Cold, Warmth & Fire

Cold, Warmth & Fire: In the KJV Bible, Fire is mentioned 515 times. (436 times in the Old Testament).

HVAC Terminology: “Heat is the absence of cold.” “Heat can be extracted from temperatures as low as -459° F, or absolute 0.” (If you can afford to do so.)

“The lowest natural temperature ever directly recorded at ground level on Earth is −89.2 °C (−128.6 °F; 184.0 K) at the Soviet Vostok Station in Antarctica on July 21, 1983 by ground measurements.” Wikipedia. ¹

“The official highest recorded temperature is now 56.7°C (134°F), which was measured on 10 July 1913 at Greenland Ranch, Death Valley, California, USA.” Guiness World Records. ¹

How hot is lava? “Lava is molten rock generated by geothermal energy and expelled through fractures in planetary crust or in an eruption, usually at temperatures from 700 to 1,200 °C (1,292 to 2,192 °F).” ¹

How hot is the earth’s inner core? “Apx. 9,000° F.” ¹ The Sun? “Temperatures here can top 15 million degrees Celsius.” ¹

Who created Earth? In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1 –the Sun, Moon and Stars? And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. Genesis 1:16

What is the temperature of fire? “Different materials burn at different temperatures, so a log fire burning in a fireplace may only average about 600 degrees C (1,112° F) but a well-stoked wood fire can exceed 1,100 degrees C (2,012° F). The flame from an acetylene torch burns at about 2,200 degrees C” (3,992° F). ¹

How hot does a plasma cutter get? “A Plasma cutter needs to generate concentrated, extremely hot plasma to cut faster and accurately. Compared to an oxyacetylene flame which is around 6,000 degrees Fahrenheit, a plasma arc can reach 45,000 degrees Fahrenheit. ” ¹

How hot is a candle’s flame? “Even different parts of the same flame can burn at different temperatures. The temperature of a single candle flame can vary from 800 to 1400 degrees C (1,472°-2,552° F) depending on where it is measured. The hottest flame is achieved by the combustion of a carbon compound called dicyanoacetylene, which burns in oxygen with a temperature of almost 5,000 degrees C (9,032° F)” ¹ ◊ “Cremation chambers are typically kept at 1650 degrees Fahrenheit.” ¹

Exposure to high temperatures can indeed be uncomfortable–and very hazardous to life. “At what temperature do third degree burns occur?”

“The “degree” of a burn refers to the depth of tissue destruction. A 3rd degree burn involves full thickness injury to the epidermis and dermis. While tissue damage starts at around 44 c (111.2 f), other factors such as length of contact are important. I.E. Higher temperatures can create more damage faster. In addition to heat, chemicals, electricity, and radiation can also cause burns.”–Dr. Christopher Crosby ¹

“This depends on the source of the heat, temperature and duration of contact. One reference quotes the following: hot water causes third degree burns… …in 1 second at 156º …in 2 seconds at 149º …in 5 seconds at 140º …in 15 seconds at 133º the very young and elderly are more susceptible.”–Dr. David Hardin. ¹
