What Is PFWC?

Ground Breaking Day for the Food Pantry Expansion at North 27 Worship Center.

PROJECT FEED WAYNE COUNTY

Richmond, Indiana Mayor Sally Hutton joined Pastor Robert E. Johnson and several Lowe’s representatives at the North 27 Worship Center during the ground breaking ceremony.

The expansion is officially declared underway!

Several companies and individual supporters have enthusiastically donated money, services and their labor toward the completion of this project, however, the need for additional funds is still pending. Contributions of money, air time, newspaper coverage, products, labor and/or, discounted materials have been provided by the following companies;  Really Cool Foods, Lowes, Lingle Real Estate, J.M. Hutton, Maze Design Group, The Max Morris Group, WHON Radio Station, The Palladium Item, FCFI, Darrell Wright Construction Company, Mike Helms Heating & Air Conditioning Services, Ernst Concrete Company, A+ Sign, Brys Concrete, Barrett Materials, R. Knox Trucking, Hill Electric, Kirby Risk Electrical Supply, Johns Manville, and the Natco Credit Union. These organizations and have provided  their valuable support to  this effort of fighting  poverty in Wayne County, Richmond and the surrounding area.

Project Feed Wayne County, A Ministry Of N27WCLocal Ministries:  Project Feed Wayne County (PFWC) is a food acquisition (donated from various contributors) and  distribution ministry of the church.  Donated food and staples are provided by this ministry at no cost to those in need, and to other food pantries in the Richmond area. The church owns a 20′  diesel powered (box)  truck which is driven by the church to pick up food products from various vendors.

The PFWC Ministry has assisted and benefitted the following groups:

Food Pantry (Richmond), Genesis Women’s Shelter (Richmond), Wernle Children’s Home (Richmond), New Creations Christian Center (Richmond), Circle U Help Center (Richmond), Rock Solid Ministries (Richmond), The Townsend Community Center (Richmond), Lifegate Ministries (Richmond), First Assembly of God (Richmond), the Catholic Community (Richmond), the Amish Community of Wayne County; Temple of God Food Pantry (Richmond), My Father’s House (Liberty) and many other individuals  in need who live in the immediate area of Richmond, Indiana.

EXPANSION PROJECT OUTLINED:

The food pantry ministry of the North 27 Worship Center was in need of a walk in cooler/freezer as it could not efficiently store and distribute donated refrigerated/frozen foods.  This need was partially realized when a local  man attended an auction several months ago.  The walk in cooler/freezer included in the sale was purchased by this person and immediately donated to N27WC.

The donation of this equipment would now provide this food pantry ministry an opportunity to acquire and distribute even more (perishable) food to the unemployed and needy families of Wayne County.  However, to install the equipment– an expansion of the church facility would be required to make room for the new equipment and additional storage space.

The food pantry ministry of N27WC serves the local Richmond area–  individuals and families  in need and a dozen or more local food pantries. All food is provided at no cost to the recipients. Currently, (actual) unemployment is perhaps hovering in the 12-14% range in this area of the State. *The poverty rate for Wayne county was listed in fifth place from the bottom (of Indiana’s 92 counties) in a 2008 report. As  local poverty levels continue to rise, the need for food — and this ministry’s efforts will be substantial.

12-17-2010: GREAT NEWS – THIS WEEK, PROJECT FEED WAYNE COUNTY WAS ABLE TO DISTRIBUTE  APX. TWO TONS OF FOOD TO RICHMOND AREA FAMILIES & OTHER LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES !

WAYNE COUNTY INDIANA POVERTY RATE.

The 30′ x 40′ addition to the building is under construction. In an effort to keep the cost of this project as low as possible, the construction style will be an economical “pole barn” design.   This project (and community) needs your help, as soon as possible!

WHY SHOULD YOU HELP THE POOR?

God’s reward to those that help the poor can be found here:

Psalm 41: 1-3 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. 2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. 3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

HELPING THE POOR IS LIKE MAKING A LOAN TO GOD.

Proverbs 19:17  17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
