Will YOU Be Remembered?

When your time comes—will you be remembered?

Ecclesiastes 3:2  A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

Psalm 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away

James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Psalm 78:39 For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.

Proverbs 10:7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

Psalm 112:6   Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

Now is the time to work for God!

Ecclesiastes 9:10  Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Psalm 6:5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

Some are due special recognition:

1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Two were crucified with Jesus–one of them asked Christ to remember him:

Luke 23:42-43 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.  43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Genesis 35:20  And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.

Lived And Died In The Faith–Gone Home

Asleep In Jesus

The ‘Holy Bible’ tops this marker.

At the end of our earthly lives, it is truly important that we be remembered–for what we’ve done for God, as that remembrance shall be everlasting.

Two thoughts to consider: 1). On earth, chances are that most of us will not be remembered beyond the second generation of those relatives and friends we’ve left behind. This fact is all too apparent when one visits a cemetery, and observes the many neglected grave sites.

2). The most important place for your name to be remembered (and recorded) is on the pages of the Lamb’s Book Of Life.

Hebrews 9: 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels;

“The small—and great shall stand before God”

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
